Abandoned Vehicles/Appliances/Machinery
Now is the time to clean up your property of unregistered or inoperable vehicles, appliances or machinery. Village Code 10-6-2: It shall be unlawful to use any premises in any residential, office, apartment, business or commercial zone of the Village as established by the Zoning Ordinance for the storing or leaving of worn out, wrecked, abandoned, or inoperable motor vehicles, appliances, or machinery of any kind or any parts thereof; any such motor vehicle, appliance or machinery so maintained is hereby declared to be a nuisance.
If you are notified of a nuisance, you have 10 – 15 days to abate the nuisance and if it is not taken care of, you can be issued a citation with a fine/penalty. So take the time now to take care of these issues.
