It’s that time of year when we have leaves and yard waste to dispose of. Open burning of landscape waste is permitted but only:
Between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and sunset and when there is sufficient air movement to dissipate the contaminants but not when winds would constitute a hazard of airborne sparks which could spread fires. Burning is only permitted on the premises on which such waste is generated and must be constantly attended by a responsible person until such burning is extinguished. Burning should not create a visibility hazard on streets, alleys, public sidewalks, railroad tracks or open fields. No chemically treated materials can be burned within Village limits. Burning should not be done in or near culverts which could restrict rainwater flow.
