Since it’s the time of year when mowing is a top priority, this is a reminder of the Village Code 972-6 which states:
It shall be unlawful for anyone to permit any weeds, grass or plants, other than trees, bushes, flowers or other ornamental plants, to grow to a height exceeding one foot (12″) anywhere in the Village. Any such plants or weeds exceeding such height are hereby declared to be a nuisance.
If a resident or business is in violation of this ordinance, a notice shall be given to the owner or occupant requiring an abatement of the nuisance within 10 days. If the owner or occupant does not comply with this notification, they shall be fined.
The Warrensburg Corn Festival is rapidly approaching. The committee has tried to put together a family friendly fun event for the entire weekend. Some of the activities are corn-shucking; parade, car show; wiffle-ball tournament, 5K walk/run; corn hole tournament; inflatables; helicopter rides; pancake & sausage breakfast; live entertainment; karaoke; kids tractor pull; and both food and merchandise vendors. Oh, yes…sweet corn!!! This is also a fund raiser for many of the area groups, so please support their efforts. For a complete schedule, check out the festival’s website or Facebook page. One will also be posted at the Village Hall as time gets closer.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! That doesn’t seem enough to thank all of you who made monetary donations or donated clothing and household items to assist those affected by the apartment fire on April 25. Many of those affected were able to find items to help them get settled into their new living spaces and all benefited from the monetary donations. A special thank you goes to the surrounding communities who also collected donations.
