Mid-Term Election voting will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 6:00 am – 7:00 pm at the Warrensburg Village Hall. Be sure to have identification with you if requested.
The Village Hall & Public Works will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022 in observance of Veteran’s Day.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Village Hall & Public Works will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2022. We hope you will take this time to celebrate with your family & friends.
The Village Hall will also be closing at noon on Friday, November 18.
A little over a year ago, a couple of families in Warrensburg presented an idea to have a community Christmas Tree. This would be to signify that we are One Community but Many Families. So………We are excited to be presenting….
ONE TREE – MANY BRANCHES
Coming this year, we will be having our first Community Christmas Tree. Just like one tree has many branches, we are going to need many people to help decorate this one tree.
We invite you to decorate the tree with an ornament that signifies your family, purchase an ornament or two, or there are some ornaments at the Village Hall which can be decorated or filled to hang on the tree.
Please come and join us on Saturday, December 3 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm to place your ornament on our tree. The tree will be located on the west side of the Village Hall. Stick around for fellowship, caroling & refreshments leading up to the lighting of Warrensburg’s tree.
The Warrensburg – Latham Lion’s Club will one again be sponsoring the Brotherhood Tree to assist those in the area with Christmas gifts and a gift card to help cover food costs. If you would like to donate a toy to help with this project, they may be dropped off at the Village Hall during office hours. More details will be posted as they are made known.

Warrensburg Cafe on recently changing ownership. Gloria Hernandez has purchased the property (instead of renting) and has been making a few changes.

Village Code highlights for November:
Chapter 1359-3 Exceptions to Open Burning
Landscape waste.
1) The open burning of landscape waste, but only:
a. Between the hours of 9:00 am and sunset
b. When there is sufficient air movement to dissipate the contaminants, but not when winds are of such velocity to constitute a hazard of airborne sparks or embers which could spread fires
c. When the landscape waste has a moisture content sufficiently low enough to allow an open & visible flame to burn
d. On the premises on which such waste is generated
e. When burning is constantly attended by a competent & responsible person until burning is extinguished
f. When the burning does not become or create a safety hazard, nuisance, annoyance or discomfort to any person by reason of the flames, emission of smoke, fumes, ash, dust, soot or noxious odor
g. When such burning does not create a visibility hazard on streets, roadways, alleys, sidewalks, or railroad tracks
2) No fire may be ignited or burned if it is prohibited by the local enforcing party or the material being or to be burned has been chemically treated.
Chapter 1305 Animals
1305-10: Running at large.
It shall be unlawful for the owner or keeper of any dog or cat to permit the same to run at large on any public street, alley, public place or unenclosed place within the Village at any time. Any dog or cat shall be impounded.
1305-17: Licenses
A. It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep or harbor a dog or cat without first having obtained a license to do so.
B. The person desiring such license shall make application to the Village Administrative Clerk upon forms provided by the Village. Such applications shall be accompanied by a license fee as set from time to time by the Village Board.
C. The Village Administrative Clerk shall issue the license applied for. Each license shall be accompanied by the issuance of a tag containing a serial number.
D. It shall be the duty of every license holder to affix the tag by chain, collar, rope or other secure fashion, at any time the dog or cat is present on any public street, alley, public place or unenclosed place.
E. No license or tag shall be renewable or assignable between license holders, dogs or cats.
1305-18: Defecation
It shall be unlawful for the owner or keeper of any dog or cat to permit the same to defecate on any public street, alley, public place, unenclosed place or any private premises other than the private premises of the owner or keeper. Said acts shall not be construed to be unlawful if, immediately upon occurrence, the owner or keeper removes the defecation in a bag, sack or other sealable or enclosed container to the owner’s or keeper’s premises or deposits the same in a garbage or trash receptacle.
1305-20: Chickens. No more than six chickens may be located at one residence. No roosters shall be allowed.
1305-21: All chickens shall be contained in an enclosure and chickens shall not be allowed to run at large. All enclosures shall be located not less than five feet from the property line. No enclosure shall be located on the front or side yard of any property. All enclosures shall be surrounded by a fence which shall not be shorter than three feet tall.
1305-22: Chickens shall have a coop, not larger than 60 square feet and not taller than six feet high. Chickens shall not be kept inside of any dwelling. Each coop shall be predator-proof with a top, ventilated, and shall provide sun, shade & year-round weather protection. Each coop shall provide easy access so that the coop shall be kept in a clean & sanitary condition.
1305-24: Any Village resident desiring to own one to six chickens shall pay a one-time fee to the village Administrative clerk in an amount set from time to time by the Village Board.
1305-27: It shall be unlawful to permit any chicken to run at large in the Village limits. Any chicken running at large shall be impounded by any officer or employee of the village or by any person or persons designated by the President of the Board of Trustees of the Village. An ordinance violation citation may be issued to the owner or keeper of the chicken running at large.
