Important regulations

Construction permits are required for any structure changes or additions.  This includes portable storage sheds. Warrensburg Village Code reads “(b) No building, parking area or structure shall be erected, converted, enlarged, reconstructed or structurally altered without first obtaining a permit for such construction.”

Warrensburg Village Code 1359-3 states:  Open burning of landscape waste is permitted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and sunset.  No fire may be lit or permitted to burn on any public street, sidewalk, pavement or alley, nor allowed to endanger people, buildings or structures.  Ditches & culverts are generally a part of the right-of-way for streets.  The landscape waste must be burned on the premises on which such waste was generated.  It must be constantly attended by a competent and responsible person until such burning is extinguished.

Since Warrensburg was awarded the Safe Route To School grant and some new sidewalks will be established and hopefully some damaged ones will be repaired, it’s a good reminder to avoid driving or parking on the sidewalks.  Village Code 705-50: No Parking Places:  At any time it shall be unlawful to permit any vehicle to stand in any of the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control device:  (b) On any sidewalk or parkway.
