Illini Drainage District billing
Each year at this time, the Village collects the Illini Drainage District tax. This is included on the April billing and is remitted to the Illini Drainage District. For those persons who do not receive a utility billing from the Village of Warrensburg, they are issued a billing for their tax.

Water/Sewer billing facts
Every attempt is made to have the monthly bills in the mail by the first of the month. These bills are due by the 15th of the month (or if this falls on a weekend, the following business day).
If the payment is not received by the 16th of the month, there is a 20% penalty assessed per Village Code.
Around the 25th of the month, a red reminder of the amount due is placed on the door of the residence. On the notice, it states the amount due and a reminder that if not paid by the 28th (or relevant date), service will be terminated and there will be a $25.00 reconnect fee. Service will not be reinstated until the bill is paid in full. If this should occur, technically the residence is declared uninhabitable.
Waste Hauling service
Each residence or business is required by Village Code to subscribe to the services of one of the Village licensed waste haulers. Failure to do so will result in a $150.00 fine.
Numbering of buildings
Were you aware that numbers are required on all buildings in the Village? Village Code 905-13 states: It shall be the duty of the owners and occupants of every house in the Village to have placed thereon, in a place visible from the street, figures at least three (3) inches high, showing the number of the house.
Mowing and weed regulations
The Village Code 972-6 states: It shall be unlawful for anyone to permit weeds, grass, or plants, other than trees, bushes, flowers, or other ornamental plants, to grow to a height exceeding one foot (12″) anywhere in the Village. These can be declared a nuisance and if not taken care of, a citation and fine issued.
Maybe you have things in and around your yard, in your garage, or in your home that could be disposed of in order to make your property “spruced up”. Many of these items require an extra stop by your waste hauler and most times, an extra charge. Here is an opportunity to declutter or remove items:
