JUNE 2021

Meet Village President/Mayor Kirk Riley

I grew up in another “burg”, Chambersburg, a very small community in Western IL. I am a ’88 graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville with a business management degree. I have worked for several companies, which has provided me with a varied background of experiences. In 2020, I retired as a Captain with the Decatur Fire Dept., serving 20 years. Since retiring, I have kept busy working for the Illini Township & substitute teaching at W-L.
I and my wife, Donna, along with our daughters, Abbey and Alyssa, moved to Warrensburg in 2005.
I look forward to serving the residents of the Village and working together with you in continuing to move the village in a positive direction. Feel free to reach out to me via the Facebook page, Village website or my email warrensburgmayor@gmail.com. You may also call the Village Hall during normal working hours and, if I’m not there, the Village Clerk will get a message to me.
Thank you for your confidence in me & I look forward to serving the Village in this role.

I am also hoping to establish “Coffee with the Mayor” at least one Saturday a month starting on June 26 from 8:30 – 10:00 am at the Village Hall. I hope you will join me in order to get better acquainted & discuss any issue or suggestion you may have.

Next Month – Meet Trustee Shaquill Freeman

Shaquill Freeman was elected to service as a Trustee for the Village of Warrensburg for the next 4 years. While he is married to the granddaughter and great-niece of a long time Warrensburg family, we hope to bring you more information about Shaquill in our next newsletter.

Village Clean-Up

The Village is working with Illini Township in hopes of having a Clean-Up Day(s) within the Village of Warrensburg. Only certain items would be accepted. More information to come if this can be done in 2021. UPDATE: A tentative date has been set for Saturday, August 7. Illini Township residents only.
In the meantime, is there work that could be done around your property or within the Village, such as picking up items in your street or along businesses? We want to make the Village attractive to not only those passing through but also possible new businesses or residents. Many hands would make the work lighter!!
